Ordination Invitations

Brother Abel needed custom invitations for his upcoming ordination and Rene Hoover Designs was happy to help! The cover art was created special to illustrate his background as a Franciscan Brother and tells a part of his personal story.

After the artwork was completed, all 400 invitations were letterpress printed on French Paper's Aged Parchtone and paired with ivory envelopes. The end result was both simple and elegant—just what the client wanted.

For me, projects like this are a lot of fun. They combine my two favorite parts of the job, concepting/designing graphics and letterpress printing.

Letterpresto!

Welcome to Letterpresto!, a nifty little blog about my adventures in graphic design and letterpress. I'm currently working on my next photopolymer plate and printing some stationary for a few fall craft shows.

Below are a some pictures of my most recent project, a graduation invitation with hand-made hats and tassels—all done in the school colors of course. This was my first two-color project and thanks to the ability of photopolymer plates to be jigsaw puzzled together the registration was spot-on!
